We wish Nancy good luck on becoming News Nation’s West Coast correspondent, and thank her for her decade of service as a reporter for WGN-TV.

Since her first day as a Reporter and Fill-in Anchor on June 1, 2010, she has been nothing but exceptional.

Nancy Loo has worked all around the globe. Her fluency in Cantonese and knowledge in German, Japanese, and American Sign Language has aided her in her work as a reporter and anchor in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York City, and Chicago.

Displaying true dedication and professionalism, Nancy has become an award-winning journalist over the years. She earned three Emmy Award nominations as Anchor/Reporter for WABC-TV in New York, where she made sure to deliver the news, even through labor contractions. Her team won the Emmy for Best Morning Newscast.

In 2004, she earned another Emmy nomination for her series, “Chicago’s Coolest Cribs”.

Nancy has always been a pioneer. In 1993, she and her fellow journalists launched the 24-hour cable news channel, New York 1 News. During her two years with them, she was named National Anchor of the Year by the New York Chapter of Women in Cable.

Nancy was one among the first journalists to actively engage viewers through social media. She was later named Chicago Social Media Person of the Year in 2013.

Truly, a person of character and excellence.  Thank you, Nancy.
