Paper cutting is an ancient art form that originated in China over 1800 years ago during the Han dynasty, in the 2nd century AD. Over time paper cutting has spread around the world and has been adopted by many cultures. In 2009, UNESCO recognized the importance of Chinese paper cutting art, by adding it to the List of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Skilled paper-cut artist Lucy P. Liu has a wealth of experience demonstrating and teaching the art of Chinese paper-cut. Join us for this workshop and make your own paper-cut! Registration is $5 for supplies and the workshop will last about an hour and a half. Space is limited to 12 people.
