Join us for a screening of "My Name is Kim Bok-Dong" at the University of Illinois at Chicago's James Stukel Towers Theater.

This documentary follows the life of Kim Bok-Dong, one of thousands of Korean women who were victims of sexual slavery during World War II and known as "Comfort Women." The film follows her 27-year fight to get recognition and an apology from Japan.

After a short introduction at 5 PM, the film will start promptly at 5:15 PM. The event will include a short educational session at 7 PM with Professor Elizabeth Son (Northwestern University) and a discussion with Ms. Yoon Mi Hyang from the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issues of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan.

Light refreshments will be served.
