The Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Cultural Center is proud to present Disoriented Comedy to DePaul University. Disoriented Comedy is the first-ever (mostly) female Asian American stand-up comedy tour. Since its first show in July 2012, this national network of veteran up-and-coming comedians have performed in over fifty independently-produced comedy and storytelling shows at comedy clubs, theaters, colleges and universities. Disoriented Comedy is currently co-produced by Jenny Yang, Atsuko Okatsuka, and D’Lo.
Jenny Yang is a Los Angeles based writer, stand-up comedian, actor and staff writer for late-night talk show Busy Tonight on E!. Jenny produces The Comedy Comedy Festival: A Comedy Festival, a comedy festival showcasing the best in Asian American comedic talent and is a founding co-producer and Director of Disoriented Comedy. In 2016, Jenny was honored as a Champion of Change in Art & Storytelling by The White House.
Atsuko Okatsuka is a stand-up comedian, actress, and filmmaker residing in Los Angeles. She is the co-found of Disoriented Comedy, the first ever all Asian, mostly female stand-up comedy tour in the United States.
D’Lo is a queer/trans Tamil-Sri Lankan American writer/actor/comic. Some of his credits include LOOKING (HHBO), TRANSPARENT (Amazon), and SENSE 8 (Netflix). He also can be found in the documentary based on his life/work called Performing Girl and the film BRUISING FOR BESOS.
