Ho Etsu Taiko is teaching 5-week long taiko classes, starting on January 30th and 31st. Please see below information for details:

Taiko I will be held on Thursdays and Taiko II will be held on Fridays. Both classes are 5 sessions for $150. There is also a discounted bundle option for those hardcore students who want to take both classes at once for $250. See information about each class below.
Taiko Foundation I consists of 5 (five) Thursday evening sessions starting on January 30th, 2020. Students should be able to attend at least 4 of the 5 sessions.
In this 5 week class we will cover basic technique, including how to hit and stand at the drum, musical listening techniques, and simple taiko songs and games. No musical experience necessary! This class is a perfect introduction to taiko. There is also an opportunity to have a mini-recital during the second half of the last class (March 5th) for family and friends.

Sessions will be held on January 30th, February 6th, February 13th, February 20th, and March 5th from 7:00- 9:00 pm. Please note that classes are on consecutive Thursdays except for February 27th - there is no class on this day.
Taiko Foundation II - technique and collaborative composition consists of 5 (five) Friday evening sessions starting on January 31st, 2020. Students should be able to attend at least 4 of the 5 sessions.

It is recommended that you’ve taken a Beginner’s class with us prior to signing up for this course. This course will have two main goals: 1) to improve beta technique through intensive drill work, and 2) to learn to approach taiko as an outlet for musical expression through creative and improvisational exercises. The first half of each class will focus on drills and conditioning; the second half of each class will focus on creative games and composing a piece with your peers. This class has the opportunity to culminate in a mini-recital for friends and family during the 2nd half of our final class (week 5, March 6th).
Taiko Foundation II sessions will be held on January 31st, February 7th, February 14th, February 21st, and March 6th from 7:00- 9:00 pm. Please note that classes are on consecutive Fridays except for February 28th - there is no class on this day.

Please note that our max registration is 15 participants for each class and we are unable to allow payment for individual sessions.
