Don't miss the Indo-American Heritage Museum Gala Concert on September 18.  Exciting performances by acclaimed jazz pianist and MacArthur Fellow Vijay Iyer and by Chicago's own guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque in stunning Mary Galvin Recital Hall, Lake Michigan as backdrop, easy access, free parking--it just doesn't get better! The event will raise funds for the Chicago museum which honors the heritage and contributions of more than two million Americans of Asian Indian origin.

Vijay Iyer will be inducted into the Indo-American Heritage Museum Hall of Fame at the event.  VIP tickets include an exclusive post-concert Meet the Artists reception which will include specially prepared Indian appetizers.

Grammy-nominated composer-pianist Vijay Iyer was described by Pitchfork as "one of the most interesting and vital young pianists in jazz today," by the Los Angeles Weekly as "a boundless and deeply important young star," and by Minnesota Public Radio as "an American treasure." He was named DownBeat Magazine's 2015 Artist of the Year

Also performing is local favorite Fareed Haque, the multiple award-winning guitarist voted Best World Guitarist by Guitar Player Magazine in 2009. Haque's long stays in Europe, Asia and South America exposed him to world music from a very early age. This natural eclecticism has become the hallmark of Haque's music.

"Jazz by the Lake" is IAHM's salute to the power of music to transcend boundaries.
