Join Chicago Sinfonietta for its second Diwali concert, heightened this year by themes of musical mythology, familiar traditions and of course, magical color! Listen as East meets West through Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3 and a reimagined performance of Stravinsky’s Suite From "The Firebird" with accompanying Indian dance. Experience the virtuosic stylings of violinist Dr. Lakshminarayana Subramaniam, as the Carnatic musical traditions of southern India fuse with Western classical traditions. Love + Light also marks another triumphant return---that of guest conductor Sameer Patel, former Assistant Conductor of the San Diego Symphony and Project Inclusion Freeman Conducting Fellow alumni.
