You're invited to the launch party of "NOT US" presented by Hip Hop in Chinatown, a community festival inspired to bring cross-cultural unity through creative expression.
NOT US is a collective fellowship founded by entrepreneurs, creatives, and thought leaders formed to confront inequities and partiality against minority groups. It is an initiative led by the Asian American community but intended to include all minorities at large.
We understand the matters our people face today are beyond complicated, and no singular solution exists. Instead, a holistic, multifaceted community approach is our strategy to creating the change we'd like to see.
NOT US addresses the most pressing issues by:
N: nurturing our people
O: organizing impactful action
T: teaching endlessly
U: uniting in solidarity, and
S: serving our communities
In doing so - representation, engagement, awareness, change, and impact, respectively, are the byproducts of our efforts.
Help us launch NOT US at the Ace Hotel Chicago with a panel discussion addressing the current atmosphere and perspective of Asian and Black solidarity (or lack thereof?). There will be a six person panel, questions to follow, and an invite to join the movement.
Music and entertainment by Lost in Kyoto (@lostinkyoto).
