Speaking Truths Series community event will return to the museum in October. Our next show is scheduled for Wednesday October 23 at 7:30pm. $5 suggested donation, but we won't turn anyone away.

The theme: Here and There in Diaspora.

What does it mean to be here and there simultaneously across borders? What does it mean to be everywhere and nowhere? Our tellers will reflect upon their diasporic experiences through personal narrative.

We have a great lineup that includes:
Carlos Benitez
Elizabeth Cambridge
Alyse Campbell
Risa Mcdonell
Sok Theary Nak
Huy Nguyen
Lupe Nunez
Shikha Sharma

You don't want to miss these tellers. They have important stories to share and they bring fresh perspectives to the storytelling scene.

Speaking Truths Series is produced and hosted by Ada Cheng, a professor-turned-storyteller, solo performer, and storytelling show producer. She has been featured at storytelling shows and performed her two solo shows all over the country. Ada is the producer and the host of four storytelling shows, including Pour One Out: A Monthly Storytelling Series, Am I Man Enough?: A Storytelling/Podcasting Show, Talk Stories: An Asian American/Asian Diaspora Storytelling Show, and Speaking Truths Series.

Speaking Truths Series seeks to bring performance art to community spaces. This show is open to and inclusive of people of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences.

National Cambodian Heritage Museum is wheelchair accessible.
