A diverse program of short films by established and emerging Southeast Asian filmmakers, ranging from documentary and fiction to experimental films. In collaboration with our Kuala Lumpur-based curator, our plan is to host a selection split into three two-hour programs. Through the filmmakers’ voices, this festival explores the fluid identities of Southeast Asia that are encapsulated in conversations about love, death, gender, youth and dreams, mundane everyday lives, globalisation, traditions, as well as myths. These films challenge what constitutes a place, a people, and a film through bold new cinematic approaches.
