It’s been a year since our last All-Camps Reunion event in 2018.
Let’s meet again as old friends and catch up on the latest happenings.
The Seventh Chicago-Area All-Camps Reunion is for anyone who was formerly incarcerated/interned in the Japanese American Concentration Camps during World War II. All friends, family, and community members are also welcome! Attendance at this event is free!
This event is jointly sponsored and organized by the Chicago Japanese American Historical Society, the Japanese Mutual Aid Society of Chicago, the Japanese American Citizens League Chicago Chapter, and the Japanese American Service Committee.
The program this year will consist of:
- A roundtable with former incarcerees as they speak about their experiences during the war and after. The panel Q&A session will be open to all, and we invite attendees to “Ask any questions that you always wanted to know about camp life or pre-war JA life.”
- A video screening from the “Untold Stories” Japanese American Oral History Project jointly sponsored by the Chicago Japanese American Historical Society and the Japanese American Service Committee
- Musical guests and entertainment
Light refreshments will also be served. Food brought for sharing is always appreciated!
To RSVP for the event or for more information, contact Ryan Yokota at the JASC at 773-275-0097 ext. 222 or Karen Kanemoto at the JMAS at 773-907-3002. Thank you!
