Walgreens International Dragon Boat Festival is coming to Chicago on July 30. Ascene Chicago would love to share the fun and excitement with you on the Ascene Chicago Dragon Boat. Do you have a competitive edge or have an urge to do something new and get your feet wet? Come join the Ascene Chicago Dragon Boat!

The festival is a combination of sport and family-friendly event. The competition (no-experience necessary) may be on the water but there is plenty of action happening on land in-between races, and it’s all free for spectators:

•    Family Fun Zone -> Activities and games


•    Beer Garden -> Beer, music, and the best seats in the house


•    Walgreens Health & Wellness Zone -> Vendors and exhibitors with a focus on healthy choices and living

•    Ascene Chicago Cultural Village & Performance Stage -> Showcases Asia's diverse culture via exhibitions, performances, and crafts

•    Food Truck Bazaar -> Experience some of Chicago’s popular food trucks 

Do I Need any Experience?

•    No experience necessary! 

Dragon boating is an inclusive sport, it is accommodating to all fitness levels, ages and sizes. 

What’s Included in our Team Package?

•   Entry into the Event

•   One (1) practice session with a coach on Thursday July 28th or Friday July 29th

•   GWN provides use of paddles, life-jackets and of course the boats to race in. You just need to show up for a fun-filled day on and off the water!

 •   Looking for a complete package? We have options to include team tent rentals, extra practices, and more

What Can We Win?

•    Everyone has a chance to win the coveted trophies and medals.  Whether you’re in the A division or G division, at the end of the day you have the opportunity to win the same medals and trophy
