World Dumpling Fest 2019

Mark your calendars for World Dumpling Fest, the kick off to the Inherit Chicago, September 29th, 2019! World Dumpling Fest will feature dumplings of the world from Chicago's best ethnic restaurants, cultural performances, and activities.

World Dumpling Fest will be a special preview to whats to come at events in the neighborhoods throughout the month of October. This all-ages event is FREE to the public, but if you want dumplings, buy your tickets now at InheritChicago.org!

In collaboration with World Music Festival Chicago, the Fest will also include performances from Fidel Nadal featuring Mr. Pauer from Argentina and Venezuela, Alsarah & The Nubatones from Sudan and New York City and Chicago’s own LowDown Brass Band.

Inherit Chicago is a citywide, intercultural festival of art ideas and performance at neighborhood cultural centers and heritage museums, members of the Chicago Cultural Alliance.

World Dumpling Fest is the opening celebration to a larger effort called Inherit Chicago. Inherit Chicago is an intercultural citywide festival put on by the city's cultural heritage museums and cultural centers, organizations such as--Bronzeville Historical Society, Open Center for the Arts, & Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art.

Over 30 cultural heritage organizations are coming together for this initiative, in an effort to promote culture on a community-based level, with first-voice perspectives. The producing organization, Chicago Cultural Alliance, is the coalition that brings these organizations together. Ticket sales from World Dumpling Fest go to make the larger festival possible.

The Chicago Cultural Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit in the state of Illinois with a mission to support, connect and promote centers of cultural heritage for a more inclusive and culturally vibrant Chicago. We hope that Inherit Chicago offers Chicagoans a chance to explore more about their own roots, and a chance to learn more about others. The funds from World Dumpling Fest go to support this cause, and our mission to support our membership of 36 cultural heritage centers.
