IN-PERSON FILM EVENT!

Join us for the Chicago premiere of a new film from South Korea, 3670.
In 3670, a North Korean defector in Seoul quietly navigates two worlds: one shaped by exile and another by his awakening queer identity.
Joonho Park’s feature debut is a moving, understated portrait of belonging and self-discovery, illuminating a rarely seen intersection of Korean life with grace, empathy, and cinematic restraint. Cheol-jun, a young North Korean defector, has built a fragile new life in Seoul. To his fellow defectors, he’s a quiet, hardworking man—yet he conceals another truth: he’s gay. Living between fear and desire, he begins exploring Seoul’s underground queer community, where coded messages like “3670” (“Meet at Exit 6, Jongno 3-ga, 7 p.m.”) mark places of connection and refuge. As Cheol-jun’s double life deepens, he struggles to reconcile the two versions of himself—the dutiful newcomer seeking acceptance and the man craving freedom and intimacy. Park’s patient, observational style transforms the ordinary—bus rides, casual chats, late-night walks—into moments of aching humanity.
