Lou Ella Rose selected as one of Chicago Cabaret's Emerging Artists Showcase set on August 25 Lou Ella Rose, lead singer of Chicago-based Filipino Folk Fusion Band, SamaSama Project, Emily Buckner, LaShera Moore Ellis, Chad Gearig-Howe, and Kristin Sponcia were selected as Chicago Cabaret’s Emerging Artists this year. They will be featured on on the first Emerging Artist Showcase on August 25 at 8pm at Davenport’s Cabaret and Piano Bar. The 5 artists were selected from a pool of aspiring Cabaret artists who submitted videos for consideration in June. Each of the finalists will perform a three-song set for a panel of select judges. The winner will receive the Denise Tomasello Scholarship Award to support the production of a solo show by the artist. The five finalists were “mentored” one-on-one by members of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals to prepare for the showcase and went through workshops on presentation, patter and in-person music direction sessions to prepare for this inaugural Showcase. Immerse yourself in new music on August 25 at 8 PM at Davenport's Piano Bar and Cabaret with Music Direction provided by Philip Seward. Davenport’s is requiring all in attendance to be vaccinated but masks are optional.
