JOIN US with local Chicago organizations (led by Asian women and femmes with direct ties to AAPI Chicagoland communities) in a rally and vigil to mourn and honor the lives of those murdered in Atlanta, Georgia last Tuesday (3/16), especially the intended targets - 6 Asian American women. We will rally across the street from the historic HANA Center building at Horner Park.

A semi-permanent altar set-up with cross-cultural mourning practices, full program TBA.

This is an IN-PERSON, OUTDOOR, SOCIALLY DISTANT EVENT. Masks are REQUIRED.

As a part of National Day of Action against anti-Asian hate and violence, we rally to demand solutions that center Asian women, femmes, and elders, who are disproportionately impacted by the violence.

We REFUSE to ignore that this rise in anti-Asian harassment and violence has disproportionately impacted women and femmes, who know firsthand that sexual violence, sexism, and racism are intertwined and steeped in the history of U.S. imperialism.

Together, we call our local elected officials to have a response which centers Asian American women, femmes, and elders - NOT increased police presence in AAPI neighborhoods.
