🌸🌸 Join JACL Chicago's Kansha Project in folding 1,000 cranes! 🌸🌸

Help bring the spirit of kansha to Manzanar through JACL Chicago’s Kansha Project Fold-a-Crane event! Join members of the Kansha Alumni Leadership Board as we fold one thousand origami cranes (senbazaru) that will be delivered to Manzanar cemetery as an offering of peace, gratitude, and remembrance by the 2019 Kansha Project cohort.

We will be gathering as a community of Kansha Project alumni and supporters to fold cranes at one of two locations:
➊ JACL Chicago Office, 5415 N Clark St, Chicago, IL
➋ Lakeside Church of Chicago, 3939 Howard St, Skokie, IL

Stop in at any time for light refreshments and to fold a crane or two to add to this year’s senbazaru offering.

We hope you’ll join us and contribute to the 2019 Kansha Project experience in a tangible way by being a part of a moment of reverence and reflection for a new cohort of Kansha Project participants.

If you’re unable to make it, you can still donate to “sponsor” a crane! We suggest sponsoring at $5 per crane, but your donation at any amount is sincerely appreciated. Donate online and track our fundraising progress here: www.jaclchicago.org/kansha-crane-campaign

The Kansha Project is a JACL Chicago program that connects self-identified Japanese Americans, ages 18-25, to the continuing legacy of the Japanese American community’s incarceration during World War II. The program centers around an educational trip to Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo neighborhood and Manzanar National Historic Site.
