The CSRPC's Annual Public Lecture features distinguished public intellectuals whose work promotes engaged thought and scholarship around topics of race and ethnicity within the public sphere. This year, we are pleased to present Jose Antonio Vargas, journalist, filmmaker, and immigration rights activist as our chosen speaker. Born in the Philippines and raised in the United States as an undocumented citizen, Vargas has been vocal about the politics of immigration and the toll it takes on the American family, society, and beyond. Vargas recently won the Pulitzer Prize for his book, "Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen," and will also be doing a book signing/book sales as part of the event.
