This workshop introduces dancers of all experiences to the unique storytelling techniques found in classical Indian dances. Participants will learn the interpretive gesture - mudra - of South Indian Bharatanatyam and the dramatic polyrhythmic footwork of North Indian Kathak.

Led by resident artist, Shalaka Kulkarni, participants will learn choreography drawing from the two dance styles. By the end of the workshops, students will be able to present their own narrative within a personal dancework.
This class is suited for ages 14+ and is inclusive of all physical and linguistic abilities. To learn more and sign up, visit mandalaarts.org/residencies/ or send us a message!
