FAAIM screens films created by emerging Asian American talent, actively supporting these diverse artists by helping them build a dedicated grassroots audience for their creative work.
The Foundation for Asian American Independent Media (FAAIM) is dedicated to celebrating and elevating emerging Asian American creative talent. To combat a lack of visibility and outdated stereotypes in mainstream media, the organization brings rich, diverse voices to the public forefront.
Through its annual Asian American Showcase, FAAIM hosts an extensive list of independent film screenings alongside comedy shows and educational filmmaker workshops. This vibrant festival not only introduces authentic Asian American perspectives but also helps these artists build a dedicated grassroots audience for their work. Ultimately, the foundation seeks to educate communities, foster cross-cultural understanding, and ensure a fuller, more accurate expression of the American story.
