The Nichiren Shu Buddhist Sangha of Chicago started in 2018 under the guidance of Ven. Kenjo Igarashi of the Nichiren Shu tradition. We hold free and open-to-the-public Buddhist Service on the 3rd Sundays of every month at Movement on Montrose (this month's service date has been adjusted due to the holidays). Our services entail offerings, ritual purification, and chanting mantra (Odaimoku) and portions of the Lotus Sutra. This is followed by a Dharma talk by Rev. Igarashi. After service, tea and light refreshments will be provided during our social hour. Doors open at 10:45 am. Doors close and service begins at 11 am.
