Event Date: September 27, 2026 (4PM)

The Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) and Haibayo are excited to invite you to Moonlight Soirée: A Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, a special evening bringing together culture, community, food, music, and connection. Inspired by the elegance and atmosphere of 1960s Hong Kong and the iconic film In the Mood for Love, Moonlight Soirée offers a fresh and modern way to celebrate one of the most meaningful holidays across many Asian cultures. Guests will gather at Furama for an evening designed to celebrate Asian heritage while creating opportunities to meet new people, reconnect with friends, and support the Chicagoland AAPI community.
Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy a variety of experiences, including Mahjong and other Asian table games, cultural music and performances, an Asian dinner provided by Furama, desserts from local vendors, and a photo wall where guests can capture memories from the evening. Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion and embrace the theme. Come dressed in Western formalwear, Tang suits, Qipaos, Ao Dais, or other Asian cultural attire. Whether you choose a classic 1960s-inspired look or your own interpretation of the evening, come ready to celebrate in style. Moonlight Soirée is also a fundraising event supporting community and cultural initiatives. Through the partnership between CMAA and Haibayo, the event brings together two organizations committed to strengthening the Chicagoland AAPI community in different but complementary ways. Founded by ethnic Chinese refugees in 1981, CMAA is a community-based nonprofit serving immigrant and refugee communities throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Through programs including Adult Education, Workforce Development, Youth Development, Social Services, and Small Business Development, CMAA helps individuals and families build stronger foundations and opportunities in their new communities. Haibayo is a community cultural nonprofit and café focused on preserving culture, strengthening community, and creating thriving ecosystems for businesses, organizations, artists, and families. Through its work, Haibayo helps create spaces where culture and community can continue to grow. Together, CMAA and Haibayo invite you to celebrate culture, connection, and community while helping support work that benefits the Chicagoland AAPI community. Whether you're joining us for the food, music, games, fashion, cultural experience, networking, or simply a memorable night out, Moonlight Soirée is an evening to come together and celebrate under the moonlight. Come dressed to impress. Bring your friends. Celebrate your culture. Meet your community. Tickets and more information: https://givebutter.com/mid-autumn-festival-djiimj
