Event Date: December 10, 2025 6-9PM

The decades after the Korean War were marked by scarcity, U.S. military presence, and rapid cultural change. Food and music became acts of survival and reinvention. Join us as we share some tastes and Chef Beverly Kim play sounds of this burgeoning time

Specials of the night
šŸ² Budae Jjigae (Army Base Stew)
Originating in the 1950s after the war, when food was scarce and Koreans combined surplus ingredients from U.S. bases into a stew. Made with processed meats like Spam, hot dogs, ham, beans, and cheese — a dish born from necessity that became national comfort. Ours will include these iconic ingredients plus Akahoshi Ramen noodles.

🄤 Banana Milk Punch Cocktail
Banana milk gained popularity during post-war hardship as an affordable fortified drink for children. When plain milk was unpopular, Binggrae launched banana milk in 1974 — its sweet flavor and jar-shaped bottle turning it into a nostalgic cultural icon.
