Join AFIRE on Wednesday, November 7 for an intimate fundraiser on a covered rooftop with a view of Downtown Chicago. This special event is in honor of our shared history of labor rights and Filipinx contributions to the movement! This event recognizes our past, present, and future as a community, as well as providing an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle with other AFIRE members, donors, and supporters. Is this event open to all ages?
Yes!
What is "Filipinx" or "Filipino/a/x"?
We use Filipino/a/x as shorthand for Filipino/Filipina/Filipinx to honor all gender identities. This is an effort by the Board and Staff of AFIRE to be more inclusive of all gender expressions. We acknowledge that this usage may be uncomfortable for some, however, this is an ongoing effort to evolve and be welcoming of marginalized identities. If you attend the event, AFIRE staff and members would love to talk to you more about why we use Filipinx!
