Event Date: September 6-7, 2025 3PM

To Our Grandmothers is an interactive, durational performance art piece that aims to commemorate the lived experiences of "Comfort Women" by intersecting art-making, community, and intergenerational and transnational empathy. Centering the piece's inspiration around the Statue of Peace, known as the Sonyeosang (소녀상) in Korean, To Our Grandmothers invites guests to participate in their own performance practice of remembrance through hope letter-writing and sitting in solidarity next to the piece's Sonyeosang, represented and performed by Emily Lim.
To Our Grandmothers is a performance demonstration of personal-turned-communal legacy-building, honoring, and remembering of the "Comfort Women," their relentless fight for justice, and our commitment to their justice.
