RESURRECTION, the new film from legendary Chinese director Bi Gan, opens this Friday, December 19 at the Gene Siskel Film Center.

Presented in five chapters, and set in a world where humans have lost the desire to dream, Bi Gan’s (LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT) mammoth and mysterious RESURRECTION, like a dream, is difficult to describe but marvelous to experience.

Across his nested stories and through a series of genres and styles—silent, romance, German Expressionism—Bi sends his mysterious protagonist (Jackson Yee), a rogue dreamer called a “Fantasma,” across decades and through fantastical unrealities.
