Chinese New Year - Afternoon Tea

Event Date: February 20-21, 2026 (2:30PM & 4:30PM); February 22, 2026 (3:30PM)

A special Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea will be served at 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm in The Lobby on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21 and at 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The menu features distinctively festive flavors including traditional Chinese fare. Entertainment provided by a string duo. On Saturday, February 21, attendees will witness the annual Lion Dance in The Lobby at 3:00 pm and on Sunday, February 22 at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. The Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea is available for $150 for adults, including a glass of Champagne; and $85 for children ages 5 to 12. Prices exclude tax and gratuity. Guests will receive the traditional red packet as a parting gift.

Chinese New Year Brunch Buffet

Event Date: February 22, 2026 (11:30AM & 1:30PM)

The Peninsula Chicago presents the second annual Chinese New Year Brunch on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The brunch is a curated Chinese menu of buffet items featuring: dim sum, Peking duck, selection of entrées, and desserts. Shanghai Terrace signature entrée items include XO beef tenderloin, sweet & sour prawns, kung pao chicken, Shanghai fried noodles, new year fried rice, jade vegetable. Steamed halibut will be served table-side. Brunch is priced at $ 188 for adults and $78 for children ages 5 to 12. Prices are plus tax and gratuity. A string duo provides the entertainment. The Lion Dance takes place at 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Sunday.
