Event Date: Nov 8 at 1pm CST

This immigrant creatives convening gives our participants the opportunity to show their work to others and receive feedback from peers.

Are you an immigrant artist? South Asia Institute initiated the Immigrant Creative Mentorship Program aimed at fostering artistic growth and professional development within Chicago’s Immigrant arts community.

The initiative will build long-term partnerships between arts organizations, academic institutions, and South Asia Institute. Together, we will foster creative expression, champion underrepresented voices, and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse cultural landscape in Chicago and beyond.

Join us for the November 8 convening -- a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their work, connect with fellow creatives, and receive constructive feedback from peers and experts in their field. This convening is designed to foster dialogue, inspiration, and growth within our vibrant creative community.

We are thrilled to welcome Nora Taylor, Alsdorf Professor of South and Southeast Asian Art at SAIC, who will join participants in exploring new perspectives, offering insights, and engaging in meaningful discussion about artistic practice and cultural expression.

Whether you are an emerging artist or an established creative, this convening is a chance to share your work, gain valuable feedback, and connect with others who are passionate about art, culture, and storytelling. Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired, challenged, and celebrated as part of a dynamic community of immigrant creatives!

The Immigrant Creatives Mentorship is supported by Terra Foundation for American Art.
