About Us
Irene Hsiao is a dancer, writer, and multidisciplinary artist. She creates performances in conversation with visual art in museums, galleries, and public spaces, a practice that includes site-specific interaction with visual artworks and experimental engagement with artists, institutions, and the public. She is a 2025 Radicle Studio Artist at the Hyde Park Art Center, the 2024 Resident Artist at the Heritage Museum of Asian Art, inaugural Artist in Residence at the Smart Museum of Art in 2020 and 2021, 2022-23 Fellow at High Concept Labs, first Artist in Residence at 21c Museum Hotel in 2022-2023, and a 2020 Chicago Dancemakers Forum Lab Artist.
Giau Truong is a multidisciplinary artist and technologist whose work blends performance, design, and interactive technology. He has over a decade of experience creating transformative educational and artistic environments, from teaching incarcerated youth through StoryCatcher to designing immersive installations for theater and pop-up events. Giau is a co-founder of Axis Lab, a community-driven arts and architecture group in Chicago, and currently serves as Technical Director and Production Manager at the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, where he supports innovation at the intersection of technology and performance.
A native of Shijiazhuang, China, Leo (Yiwei) Wang now resides and works in Chicago, Illinois, where he has earned a graduate degree in Fine Arts Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As an interdisciplinary artist, curator, performer, and raver, Wang explores contemporary social media and pop culture phenomena, with a focus on issues such as body image, gender stereotypes, the dichotomy of nightlife, and the power dynamics within sexual interplay. Wang is the proud recipient of several merit awards and has been showcased in five solo exhibitions (#SOFAB, #SOFAB: FlamBOYant ONLY, #SOFAB: Filtered , #SOFAB: Faux Venus and #SOFAB: Quilted Emptiness). For his work and personality, Wang has been featured in several publications, most notably Suboart Magazine, VoyageLA, and Denver Post.
Chien-An Yuan is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator based in Ann Arbor, MI. Yuan runs 1473, a record label specializing in improvisation, electronics, and collaboration. He is also a founding member of IS/LAND, a performance collaborative composed of AAPI movers, artists, and collaborators. Yuan launched the inaugural KYLYN AAPI Arts & Culture Festival in 2024. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, NewCity, Salon, ArtSlant, Huffington Post, and WNYC. Past performances and exhibitions include the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA), Elastic Arts, Convivium 33, Detroit Institute of Arts, The Contemporary Arts Center Cincinnati, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Gene Siskel Film Center, Museum of Chinese in America NYC, Syrup Loft, Zhou B Arts Center, Asian American Cultural Center of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Hyde Park Art Center, and Gallery 312.
