ABOUT THE SELF-CARE PRACTICE

When: May 18 (12-1PM)
Where: Zoom

This one-hour online Reiki self-care practice in the traditional Japanese style of Reiki offers participants the opportunity to take a pause during the day to relax, refresh, and come back to their original state of balance. This practice is guided by Veronique Frede, Reiki Teacher. It may include breathing exercises and meditation to feel more present, clear, and centered; hands-on healing on ourselves; working with the Japanese energy system; exploring the Reiki precepts as life-guiding principles; chanting mantras; as well as receiving distant healing from the teacher.

Everyone welcome, no prerequisite. Make sure you are in a quiet and comfortable place at time of the session. You can practice seated on a chair or on the floor in seiza or lotus position. Have a glass of water available to drink at the end of your session.

*Once you register, you will receive an Eventbrite confirmation email which will include a “View Now” button that will take you to the Zoom link to join. Please reach out if you do not receive this email or have trouble accessing the Zoom link.

**Registration will close one hour prior to the class. Please try to be on time in respect for the group. The session will be locked at 12:10 pm (Central Time/US), and you will not be able to enter after that time.

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese healing art that was developed in Japan in the 1920’s by Usui Mikao. The original name was “shin shin kaizen Usui Reiki Ryoho” which can be translated as the Usui healing method for the improvement of body and mind. The method has 5 main elements that include breath meditation, the precepts, symbols and mantras, hands-on healing and the Reiju or blessings.
