2020 Letter to My Parents ContestTM in Chicago

Two Winners Will Win A Trip to Japan, scheduled March 18th to 28th, 2020!

Do you have a story to share about your family when growing up in Chicago?

Write a letter to your parents and enter to win in the Letter to My Parents ContestTM organized by Pilsen Wellness Center, Inc., and Reiyukai Active Care Team (REACT.)

Two winners will win a trip to Japan, ten finalists will each receive $50 Gift Certificates, and a Yearlong test-prep course subscription, courtesy of BenchPrep and many more!

Letter to My Parents Contest in Chicago is open to teens and young adults, ages 17 to 23, who reside in Cook County, Illinois, and would like to share their experiences and express their feelings towards their parents or legal guardians. Participants are encouraged to submit work illustrating examples from their personal family life; reflecting family relationships and interactions. Suggested topics include:

·  How have my parents’ experiences influenced or affected the person I am today?

·  What my parent(s) means to me?

·  What are my thoughts about how we are as a family?

·  What would I like to do for my parent(s)?

·  How I can improve the overall relationships in my family?

Submit entries to the Organizing Committee by Friday, January 17, 2020. Entries may be in any language used in the State of Illinois, but an English translation is required. Contestants 17 years old and under must submit a Parental/Guardian consent form.

Ten finalists/winners will be selected and will be invited to present their letters during the Final Presentation to a panel of judges, scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Pilsen Wellness Center, 2319 S. Damen Ave, Chicago 60608.
