As part of the Asian-American Heritage Pacific Islander (AAPI) month, we would like to highlight Narni Yoder, a frontline healthcare leader for her work in the COVID-19 pandemic. Narni, a Filipina-American, is the Co-Founder and Chief Sales Officer of Simple Laboratories (Simple Labs), the largest independent clinical laboratory in the Chicago area. Simple Labs run lab tests to help diagnose, treat, and prevent numerous diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.  Currently, Simple Labs has been conducting COVID-19 tests, both PCR (swab) and antibody tests in the Chicagoland community.

Narni says that during unprecedented times, we must come together to respond to the needs of our community. Her company, Simple Labs, has been working around the clock to increase the capacity for testing so we as a community can get through this pandemic.

Narni launched Simple Labs to provide laboratory services that are transparent, supportive, and simple. As a healthcare leader, Narni believes in setting higher standards for laboratory services. She also believes in empowering patients to take charge of their own health.

Prior to her current position at Simple Labs, Narni spent the last decade in the technology space, creating large consumer facing businesses at Google, YouTube and AOL. As an account director for Google, she led a team of creatives to develop long-term strategic programs and creative executions for Google’s key accounts, which led to groundbreaking opportunities. Prior to Google, Narni worked at a variety of companies, including Time Warner, PwC, IBM, and Disney, where she gained important experience in business strategy, finance, and operations. Her initiatives in these companies were instrumental in implementing multi-million-dollar programs and developing long-term strategic partnerships with brands such as P&G, Kraft Foods, HBO, NBC, and Sony, among others.

Narni earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics and East Asian Civilizations and Languages from The University of Chicago.    Narni also served many years as President of the Board of Directors for the University of Chicago Alumni Club of Chicago, representing the 50,000 area alumni.
