he Skokie-based Indian grocery company now opens a new store at Niles last Thursday, October 3. 

The newly inaugurated Patel Brothers store located at Golf Road and Milwaukee Avenue has gained so much crowds during its first day that nearly reached a thousand, according to reports.


The 28,000 square foot store features a bakery serving up Indian roti bread and their unique products such as dosakai, fresh tindora and cut jackfruit, baked goods, canned and dry goods, frozen foods and household items among others.

Beside the store building will also open six tenant spaces including a Halal butcher. The Halal food is for Muslims similar to the Kosher food of Jewish.

Present in the ribbon cutting ceremony is Mayor Andrew Przybylo and company officials to formally open the store. State Sen. Ram Villivam also also graced the event.

Patel Brothers first opened its store at Devon Avenue in 1974 and now operates 55 stores across the United States including their stores in Schaumburg, Hanover Park, Evanston, and Naperville in Chicago.
